Taking A Look At The Top-Dog Chevy Tahoe
G.M.'s venerable Tahoe is one of Chevy's top-dog full-size SUVs, having joined the Suburban in 1995 as a shorter-length version. The Tahoe has an all-new facelift for the 2025 model year, keeping up appearances next to the newly redesigned Traverse. Right now Chevy has a number of excellent incentives on the Tahoe as the model year wraps up.
The Tahoe remains a standout in the full-size SUV market, offering a blend of power, space, and modern technology. The entry-level Chevy Tahoe LS, priced at $59,000 MSRP for 2025 (up from $56,200 for 2024), provides an affordable option for those looking to get into a full-size G.M. SUV, handily undercutting Yukon SLE. It comes equipped with standard safety features such as Automatic Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Alert, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Unique to the LS are 18-inch wheels, eight-passenger seating with an optional front-row bench seat, and an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen. And, yes, the entry-level Tahoe has cloth seating.
Moving up to the Chevy Tahoe LT, $62,000 MSRP, buyers will find enhanced comfort with leather upholstery, heated front bucket seats, a programmable power liftgate, and wireless phone charging. The LT also features an upgraded 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen and a nine-speaker Bose audio system. The LT stands has hands-free liftgate and a digital instrument cluster.

The RST trim, $67,000 MSRP, brings a sporty flair to the Tahoe lineup. It features a unique grille and monochromatic black exterior trim, and offers the option of a more powerful 6.2L V8. The larger 22-inch wheels may affect ride comfort but offer a commanding presence. The RST is distinguished by special seats with contrasting red stitching and a dual-exhaust system available with the Sport Performance package.
For those who enjoy off-road adventures, the Z71 trim, $69,000 MSRP, is an excellent choice. It comes with standard 4WD, all-terrain tires, hill descent control, and a front aluminum skid plate. The Z71 features a distinct front fascia for improved approach angles, red tow hooks, and an optional adaptive air suspension. It also has a two-speed transfer case and black tubular assist steps.
The Premier trim, with a starting price of $73,600 MSRP, offers a touch of luxury with heated and auto-dimming outside mirrors, a 10-speaker Bose audio system, ventilated/heated front seats, and power-sliding center console. The Premier has a refined look, with chrome exterior accents and 20-inch wheels.
At the top of the lineup, however, is the Cadillac of Tahoes, the High Country trim, starting at $78,700 MSRP. This trim offers top-tier luxury with premium interior material, coming standard with the 6.2L V8 engine and Magnetic Ride Control suspension. The High Country provides a level of luxury and performance unmatched by lower Tahoe trims, rivaling Escalades and Yukon Denalis for sumptuousness. It features an exclusive High Country grille, power-retractable assist steps, 15 inch heads up display, real wood decor, and High Country interior stitching. 24-inch machined high-gloss black wheels are optional.
The Tahoe offers two V8 engine options. The 5.3L V8 engine, standard on most trims, delivers 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. It provides a balanced performance and fuel efficiency, making it a solid choice for many buyers. The optional 6.2L V8 offers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, standard on the High Country and available on the RST, Z71, and Premier. Both engines are paired to a ten speed auto.
Chevy is currently offering very attractive deals on the new Tahoe with which one can save as 2025 winds down. These include a $769/month lease on the 2025 Tahoe 4WD LT with $9,379 down. Chevy is also offering $1,000 consumer cash on 2025 Tahoe 1LZ excluding sunroof, a great deal on the seldom discounted Tahoe. Be sure to check local dealers for area-specific incentives, as they may vary by region. Cast a wide net using the dealer inventory tool and compare multiple stores within a reasonable driving radius; despite national promotions, not all dealers price the same, and some will be more aggressive on in-stock colors or option packages. Ask every store for an out-the-door price that includes taxes and fees, and be selective about add-ons like paint protection, VIN etching, maintenance packages, and extra alarm systems—polite declines on extras can save hundreds or even thousands.
