The New 2024 GMC Acadia Vs. Its Predecessor

GMC’s Acadia is all-new for the 2024 model year, which means two things. GMC’s more upscale version of the Chevrolet Traverse, the new Acadia brings the pain to the Ford Explorer and the Hyundai Palisade. As often happens when a new model debuts, G.M. has great incentives available on remaining 2023 Acadias, which G.M. still lists on their website. You may be able to get an amazing price a brand new car.

The 2023 Acadia SLE started at $36,800 msrp, making it quite a bit more affordable than the new model. It had a 2.0L 4 cylinder turbo with a 9 speed automatic transmission in all trims, 18 inch aluminum wheels, and an 8 inch GMC infotainment system. 2024 sees the disappearance of the SLE trim, and the new Elevation is now entry-level, starting at a bit more expensive $42,600 msrp, though not without reason. The new Elevation has a 2.5L turbo engine with 328 hp and 326 lb-ft of torque, which is a substantial bit more than the previous model’s 228 horsepower entry-level motor; no more optional V-6 exists due to the much higher power rating of the turbo-four. Elevation trim includes second row flat folding captain’s chairs, a third row 60/40 split bench seat, an 11 inch driver information center, a 15 inch premium infotainment system, and a 12 speaker Bose audio system, quite stepping up the luxury amenities of the entry-level Acadia model.

SLT trim from 2023 is also dropped for 2024, which previously started at $41,100 msrp. It added perforated leather seats in first and second rows and a hand free power liftgate. The new 2024 Acadia reaches straight from Elevation to the AT4 trim, which now starts at $50,000 msrp, up from $43,400 msrp for the 2023 model. The New AT4 features an active torque control all wheel drive system (also present on 2023), a legitimate off-road tuned suspension, 18 inch machined aluminum wheels (vs. 2023’s 17 inch) with all-terrain tires, a higher ride height (which 2023 did not have), and dark-accented exterior with a special “forest storm” interior.

The top dog of all Acadia’s remains the Denali, which started at $48,600 msrp for the 2023 model year and is now $54,300 msrp for the 2024 model year. As is usual with Denali models, there is no shortage of chrome grille on either Acadia Denali, and both have machined 20 inch aluminum wheels. The 6 inch heads up display from 2023 is now up to an 8 inch size on the 2024, and all Denali’s have premium interior with leather appointed seats in the first and second rows. It also has heated and ventilated first row seats.

2023 and 2024 Acadias have a 5-star NHTSA safety rating. There is standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, and available adaptive cruise. GMC offers a 3 year/36,000 mile limited warranty. Powertrain warranty if 6 years or 60,000 miles.

Right now GMC is offering a host of amazing incentives on the Acadia. These include low APR’s on remaining 2023 Acadia models. You can also lease a 2024 Acadia AWD Elevation for a great rate as well. Be sure to consult local dealers for detailed pricing and all available offers.
