The Jeep Grand Cherokee Tops 30 Years

Jeep's Grand Cherokee has been blazing trails, literally and proverbially, since it helped to create our modern-day SUV craze with its 1993 debut. The new Grand Cherokee is a beautiful 293-horsepower marvel, evolving its classic Grand Cherokee shape to meet modern times. Right now Jeep has a number of great incentives on the new Grand Cherokee. This article takes a look at why the Grand Cherokee is a compelling choice.

Classily redesigned for the 2022 model year, the Jeep Grand Cherokee kisses its dowdy WK-predecessor goodbye, and gives its larger Grand Wagoneer big brother a run for its money.  From its shining, bright chrome grille to its legitimate offroad chops, the Grand Cherokee is one of the most popular mid-size SUVs in America, regularly topping the top-10 best selling vehicles list.

The Grand Cherokee comes in two-row, three-row, as well as a new electrified version.  The entry level Laredo A starts at $36,495 msrp in 4x2, two-row version.  Standard features include adaptive cruise, active lane management, automatic emergency breaking, 26 MPG highway, LED headlamps and tailamps, a 10.25 inch digital infotainment unit, and Apple Carplay / Android Auto wireless.

Power comes from a respectable 293-hp 3.6 Liter V-6 motor for gas models.  The electric model has a combined 365 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, combined with its gas 2.0 liter four cylinder motor.  Various all wheel drive packages are available. An optional 357 hp V8 borrowed from its Wagoneer big brother is available on higher-level Grand Cherokee trims.

The three row Grand Cherokee L is a foot longer than the two row Cherokee, and has a longer wheelbase; if you don’t need three rows of seats, you may prefer the smaller and more nimble two-row model.  Jeep’s limited package offers a cornucopia of desirable features, including leather seats, power liftgate, heated front and rear seats, and remote start.  Trailhawk is Jeep’s legitimate off road package with up to 11.3 seconds of ground clearance and a locking limited-slip diff.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trim MSRP List: Laredo A $36,495, Laredo $38,035, Laredo L $40,035, Laredo 4x4 $40,035, Laredo L 4x4 $42,035, Laredo X $38,785, Laredo L X $40,535, Laredo X 4x4 $40,785, Laredo X 4X4 $42,535, Altitude $42,640, Altitude 4x4 $44,640, L Altitude X 4x4 $47,140, Limited $45,905, Limited 4x4 $47,905, L Limited 4x4 $49,905, Overland 4x4 $60,995, Summit 4x4 $62,560, Summit Reserve $67,040, L Summit Reserve 4x4 $69,040. As can be seen, there is a wide range in options and pricing! Jeep also has a hybrid-electric Grand Cherokee 4xe option, which is a whole different (and more expensive) can of worms.

Right now Jeep is running great promotions on the Grand Cherokee.  Stellantis has cash allowance offers and in some cases many thousands off msrp. There are also lease specials as well as promotional APR’s. Be sure to check local dealers for incentives in your region as offers may vary by state.
