How To Save On The All-New Chevy Traverse

G.M. had an all-new three-row SUV for the 2024 model year, the redesigned Traverse. No longer content to be a plainclothes SUV, the Traverse has impressive new sheet metal, giving the Tahoe a run for its money. With a new High Country trim for 2025, the Traverse does everything Tahoe and Suburban can do. Right now Chevy has a number of excellent incentives as the model year wraps up.

The new Traverse LT is the entry-level model, starting at $40,700 msrp. It has a 2.5L turbo motor, eight speed automatic, seating for eight, side bicyclist alert (due to the vehicle’s size), and a host of other safety features that include HD rear vision camera, lane change alert, and rear cross traffic alert. It gets 7 passenger seating due to second row smart slide seats, as well as roof rails, a power driver seat, wireless phone charging, and a power liftgate. This base motor is no slouch, with 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, and is in fact offered on all trims of the Traverse. Power windows, locks, mirrors, infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple Carplay, and so forth, are all standard.

The Traverse Z71 is where the Traverse gets interesting. It has a Terrain mode, an advanced twin clutch all wheel drive system, off road suspension, skid plates, hill descent control, tow hooks, Z71 badging, 18 inch black machined-face wheels with all terrain tires, and trailering equipment. Nearly the same size as the Tahoe, the unibody Traverse Z71 is likely up to all of the off-road challenges from today’s average consumer, without the truck-like handling that comes with the Tahoe’s body-on-frame construction.

The top-of-the-line sport-themed Traverse is intended for the street and not the mountain, however, and it is the Traverse RS. It includes RS blacked out grille and badging, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and red interior decor, black leather seats with red accents, power folding second and third row seats, 22 inch high gloss black wheels, uplevel suspension, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and Bose audio system. For all that you get, the Traverse RS is a crazy cheap value.

Chevy is currently offering very attractive deals on the new Traverse with which one can save as 2025 winds down. These include lease deals for $499 a month for 24 months with $5,159 down for eligible current lessees on 2025 Traverse FWD LT; there is also $479/month for 24 months with $3,969 down for GM employees and eligble family members who are eligible current lessees. Be sure to check local dealers for area-specific incentives, as they may vary by region. Cast a wide net using the dealer inventory tool and compare multiple stores within a reasonable driving radius; despite national promotions, not all dealers price the same, and some will be more aggressive on in-stock colors or option packages. Ask every store for an out-the-door price that includes taxes and fees, and be selective about add-ons like paint protection, VIN etching, maintenance packages, and extra alarm systems—polite declines on extras can save hundreds or even thousands.
