How To Save On The 2025 Hyundai Kona

Completely redesigned for 2024, the Hyundai Kona is one of the most stylish and affordable cars available in the U.S., recently winning Motor Trend's small SUV shootout against 7 competitors. Shattering assumptions about affordable vehicles, it is both beautiful and capable. Right now, Hyundai has a number of great incentives on the 2025 Kona as the model year wraps up.

Many buyers will want to consider the Kona. Built in Ulsan, South Korea, this Asian-import shows just how far “chaebol” Hyundai Motor Group has come, the driving force behind beautiful models like the Palisade and its platform-mate the Kia Telluride. The new Hyundais and Kias trash assumptions about Korean cars, tossing the Hyundai Accent and the Kia Sephia into the rightful dustbin of automotive history.

The Kona has two entirely different versions, one which is powered by gas, and the other completely electric. The gas version starts at $24,550 MSRP for the base SE trim, making it an ideal for the young and the old alike who are trying to stretch their budget a bit further. Right now Hyundai is offering 4.29% APR or $220/month leases on SE trim with $4,000 down, or $239/month on SEL trim with the same down. The base Kona SE packs a lot into its $24,250 base price, however. Standard equipment includes 17 inch alloys, wireless smartphone integration for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, SiriusXM, Cruise Control, dual USB outlets front and back, proximity key with push button start, hands free bluetooth, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, air conditioning, automatic intelligent variable transmission, 4-wheel discs with ABS, and a 16-valve motor with idle stop and go and smart valve timing.

All wheel drive is optional on all Konas. Kona SEL starts at $25,600 and Kona N-Line performance model starts at $30,800, and the Limited at $31,800. The N Line and the Limited have a more powerful 190 horsepower motor, while the N-line has 19 inch alloys, Sport seats, and N-line appearance accents. Meanwhile, the Limited gets you leatherette trimmed ventilated seats and ambient lighting.

Counterintuitively, the Kona Electric model costs more to buy, however, can be leased for less thanks to EV credits. MSRP is $32,675, however, $7,500 total cash savings “EV Lease Bonus” are available. The Kona EV range is up to 261 miles, with power up to 201 horsepower. The base SE trim includes a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3 inch touchscreen NAV, and all the power options you’ve come to expect with a new car in 2024.

Kona EV SEL adds a leather wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, a power driver seat with lumbar, and roof side rails. The Limited trim has wireless device charging, H-Tex faux leather ventilated seats, Bose Premium audio, a hands free liftgate, power and slide sunroof, surround view mirror system, blind spot view monitor, and a collision avoidance system.

With roughly half of its vehicles produced outside the US, now is the best time to scoop up a new Hyundai amid uncertainty surrounding tariffs and the current pause; Hyundai has vowed not to raise prices for two months according to the WSJ. Right now Hyundai is offering .99% APR for 48 months on Kona Electric, or $189 a month lease for 24 months with $3,999 down; there is also a $7,500 cash savings offer. Gas-powered Konas have 3.99% APR for a whopping 72 months with zero down. They are also leasing from $229 a month with $3,999 down for the SE trim. Finally, cash savings of $1,500 to $2,000 are offered, which are trim-dependent. Hyundai also has $500 military discount and $400 recent college grad discount. Be sure to check local dealers for best pricing as incentives may vary by region.

Right now the 2025 Kona has a host of attractive national deals with which to save as the model year comes to an end. There are trim-dependent savings of $1,000-$1,500 on remaining 2025 gas inventory, with 2026’s already hitting lots — 2026 offers are relatively meager in comparison. Kona Electric gets a whopping $7,500 off. There is also a $500 military discount, and a $400 recent college graduate discount. Finance any trim for 2.99% APR for 48 months. Lastly, SE is leasing at $229/mo with $3,999 down for 36 months. Be sure to check local dealers for the best deals as incentives may vary by region. Cast a wide net using the dealer inventory tool and compare multiple stores within a reasonable driving radius; despite national promotions, not all dealers price the same, and some will be more aggressive on in-stock colors or option packages. Ask every store for an out-the-door price that includes taxes and fees, and be selective about add-ons like paint protection, VIN etching, maintenance packages, and extra alarm systems—polite declines on extras can save hundreds or even thousands.
