Buick has historically been a favorite car in the state of Florida, but times are changing since the days of LeSabres and Regals roaming the streets of America’s retirement communities. Buick has broken bread with the future, introducing affordable new models to bring younger buyers to the brand, and parting ways with passenger sedans and nameplates such as Regal, Lacrosse, and Century. Buick is attempting to reverse its American fortunes; it is a runaway sales success in China of all places, where Buick sells more than six times the cars it does in its home country.
In the place of sedans, Roadmasters, and LeSabres comes a quartet of SUV’s in various sizes sporting the brand-new Buick triple shield logo, paying homage to Buick’s history while looking forward to what comes next. Both the young and old will want to take note, as some of Buick’s new offerings provide a compelling value for buyers of any age to give the brand another look.
All-New Envista
The brand-new Envista is making its debut for 2024, and can now be found at dealerships. A sleek, less-conventionally-Buick design breaks from the past, starting at a refreshing $22,400 msrp, making it one of the cheapest new cars for sale in America. Automatic climate control is standard, a rarity at this price point, as is a flat-bottom steering wheel, leatherette seating surfaces, and an 8-inch diagonal driver information center screen. The Envista also features a signature 11-inch ultrawide screen for infotainment. The mid-level Sport Touring starts at $24,100 msrp, adding an appearance package, different wheel choices, and embroidered seats. The top dog is the Avenir, starting at $28,600 msrp, bringing many luxury features to the price point, including 19 inch wheels with pearl nickle finish, a power liftgate, heated front seats and steering wheel, remote start, power-driver’s seat, and leather appointed front seats. Options include a moonroof, rain sensing wipers, adaptive cruise control, lane change alert, and rear parking assist.
Facelifted Encore GX
Buyers on a budget looking for something a little less swoopy will be happy to learn about the updated 2024 Encore GX. The 2024 update helps the Encore GX enter modernity a bit, and it actually reduces the starting price $300 to $25,600 msrp for the standard front-wheel drive trim. The 2024 Encore GX has reduced levels of noise, vibration, and harshness, which will make for a quieter ride. Many of the options available on the Envista are also available on the Encore GX, however, the Encore GX makes all wheel drive optional, which the Envista does not. All trim levels are available with AWD, starting at $28,895 for the Preferred AWD and up to $34,795 for the Avenir AWD, making the Encore GX a decidedly more pricey choice than the Envista. Buick is also offering low APR’s on the outgoing 2023 Encore GX if you are looking for a deal; 1.9% APR and no payments until 2024 is currently available. The Encore GX also has an optional 155 horsepower engine, which is more powerful than the 137-hp engine shared by both the base Encore GX and the base Envista; it starts at $27,290 for FWD/Preferred, $28,095 for Sport Touring, and $33,195 for Avenir.

Envision
Buick’s mid-size Envision starts at $33,400 msrp for 2023, offering many of the features available on the larger Enclave, but in a 5-seat package instead of 7. It has QuietTuning technology, available heated steering wheel, available heated seats, available power liftgate, and standard soft touch materials. A rear camera makes reversing easy, and air quality indicator and advanced air filtering keeps the interior air quality clean. Bargain hunters will want to keep an eye out for 2023 models of the Envision getting blown out by dealers looking to make room for the redesigned 2024 model. The new 2024 Envision will feature Buick’s first “Super Cruise” driver assist for hands-free driving on “over 400,000” miles of roads in the USA and Canada; pricing has yet to be announced.
Enclave
Buick’s largest SUV, the Enclave, starts at $43,900 msrp. It has available massaging front seats which are also heated, and leather seating surfaces come standard in this range-topper. A hands-free power liftgate makes putting things in the back a cinch, and the Enclave offers a third row with seating for seven. The top of the line Avenir has power-folding third-row seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, which can optionally be heated. A host of safety features, such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, and front pedestrian braking are standard.
Available QuietTuning technology reduces exterior and unwanted noises, using triple door seals, acoustic laminated glass, and a noise-reducing suspension to provide a quiet driving experience. A 3.6L V6 with 310 horsepower and a 9-speed automatic gets everyone where they need to go on time. Right now Buick is offering 3.9% APR on the 2023 Enclave plus no payments for 90 days; 2023 FWD Enclave Essence is also offered on lease for $329/month for 24 months with $4409 down for current GM lessees.
