How To Save On The All-New Tacoma

Toyota's 3rd generation Tacoma was in production from 2015 to 2023, and after eight years being America's best-selling midsize truck, the Tacoma was all-new for 2024. The new Tacoma gets an enormous power bump with the new i-Force turbo motor. Right now Toyota has a number of excellent incentives on the Tacoma. Let's see how it stacks up and how to save right now.

The new Tacoma has engulfed Toyota dealerships everywhere to great fanfare. With a turbo four cylinder on all trims, it now starts at $31,590 msrp. Top of the line models will have a hybrid version with 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque combo, while non-hybrid models get a normal version of the same engine with 278 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque (only the SR trim gets the penalty-box 228 horsepower version). A six speed manual transmission is optional, but most trucks will get the eight speed auto. The 4th gen Tacoma will also say goodbye to leaf-springs in the rear, finally getting more sophisticated rear coils.

The Gen 4 Tacoma has a lot of trims, depending how you count them, some of which are the same as the Gen 3, and some of which are new or returning trims. SR ($31,590 msrp), SR5 ($36,200 msrp), TRD PreRunner ($38,100). TRD Sport ($39,400 msrp), TRD Off-Road ($41,800 msrp), Limited ($52,100 msrp), Trailhunter ($62,900 msrp), and TRD Pro ($63,900 msrp). TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, and Limited all adtionally come in iFORCE MAX trim with the engine tuned for the most horsepower - $46,300, $46,600, and $55,800 msrp, respectively. Limited and TRD Pro get power-adjustable leather seats, while the latter gets special TRD Pro stitching. SR and SR5 get cloth seats with manual adjustment; power adjustment is available on SR5 and above.

The base SR is a fairly bare bones truck. Standard features include a composite bed, skid plates, USB ports, and all power options (windows, locks, etc). Access cab has seats behind the front but only two doors and a longer bed, and Double Cab has four real doors but a shorter bed; The SR5 Double Cab steps up the availability of either a short or long bed, and adds four wheel drive for roughly $3,000 more than rear wheel drive. The SR5 also adds fog lights, 17 inch alloy wheels, leather trimmed tile/telescoping steering wheel, and an 8 inch touchscreen radio. TRD Sport adds 18 inch wheels, 12.3 inch digital gauge cluster, 10-way power driver’s seat (cloth), leather trimmed shift lever, premium audio, and smart key system. TRD Off-Road substitutes gets a Multi-Terrain Select / Crawl Control system, a locking rear e-differential, and Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism.

Stepping up to premium trims, the Tacoma Limited, now $52,100 msrp, has a JBL audio system with dynamic navigation, 18 inch polished alloy wheels, a power sliding rear window, leather trimmed and heated seats, and a host of other options made standard such as dual zone auto climate control and LED Headlights with LED fog lights. The top-of-the-line TRD Pro, a sixty-four thousand dollar Toyota Tacoma, sandwiches together many of the options from its lesser siblings, including the multi terrain monitor, premium alloy wheels in black, 10 way leather seats, JBL Audio, Fox shock system, TRD skid plates, and electronically locking rear diff. It also has a special TRD Pro graphics package.

Right now Toyota has a host of deals on the New Tacoma as the model year wraps up. Lease an SR5 from $249 a month for 24 months with $3,999 down at signing, or $279 a mo. for 36 months; TRD Off Road leases at a scant $359/month, all with the same down payment. Tacomas are also financing at 2.99% APR for 48 months for 2024 model year (there are still a few available), and 3.99% APR for 60 months for 2025 model year. Lastly Toyota offers $500 military discount and $500 recent college grad discount. Be sure to check with local dealers for best promotions in your area as they can vary by region.
